Kuno House
Elevated above a lush flower and vegetable garden and rice paddies, KUNO is a vintage teakwood Gladak house. A “Gladak” is a traditional wooden house in Indonesia, known for its high-pitched roof and distinctive architectural style. Beyond the spacious 27m² interior, a generous 18 m² seating porch offers a lovely view for epic morning bird-watching and magical sunsets.
The room suggests the opulence of early Javanese history; it is adorned with luxurious touches including fine Ikat textiles, a writing desk, cozy seating area, and A/C. The plush queen-size bed invites you to enjoy the colourful elite French linens.
Complimentary natural bath products, beautiful light robes, hand-made snacks and a refrigerator of healthy beverages cater to every personal need.
In the unique private outdoor bathroom you are immersed in copper and nature, with creatively woven copper walls, and a Japanese copper and teak wood tub. The partially sunken tub and rain shower are flanked by majestic bamboo.
Overlooking the nearby pebble-lined swimming pool, and a short distance to both the signature Sunset Bar as well as Bambu Indah’s main restaurant, Tembaga, Kuno is perfectly situated for couples or solo travelers seeking comfort, tradition and wonder in a serene setting.
