The Riverside Warung
Overlooking the spectacular Ayung River and spring-fed natural bathing pools, the riverside Warung is Bambu Indah’s signature restaurant. Delicious food sustainably and locally sourced is cooked in a traditional Balinese-style open air kitchen but it’s the dining room with roofs of treated bamboo bent into overlapping arches supporting a curved roof of hand-folded cand hammered copper shingles which catch the eye.
“I wanted it to appear as though it was constructed by a highly intelligent bird,” explains Elora Hardy, John’s daughter and founder of Ibuku an innovative design and architectural company leading the way in working with bamboo and other sustainable materials.
