Jambu House Two Bedroom Duplex
The Jambu House is a two-storey teak wood marvel surrounded by dancing banana palms and vibrant rice paddies. Perfect for a family or small group, this original Gladak house, transformed into a 62 m² living space with air-conditioning, features spacious 31 m² bedrooms on both floors. A “Gladak” is a traditional Javanese house known for its distinctive architecture and high-pitched roof.
Upstairs, the numerous wood-framed windows invite the natural light into a room of two double beds with upscale mattresses and colourful linen sheets, an oversized reading chair, and fine traditional rugs and art.
The highlight of Jambu is a whimsical second-floor bamboo tunnel leading to a uniquely architectural bamboo bathroom with one of the world’s only hanging copper bathtubs and a delightful heart-shaped copper rain shower.
A 16 m² porch offers a comfy daybed and small dining table and chairs. With the expansive northwest-facing views of the Bambu Indah rice paddies in front and the majestic Bongkasa landscape beyond, this is a perfect place to enjoy breathtaking sunsets and sunrises.
Descending the spiral staircase reveals another realm of enchantment. From the wooden veranda, floor to ceiling glass doors invite you to the downstairs bedroom. A reclaimed ironwood floor is creatively surrounded by mud walls adorned with tribal art and topped with glass skylights to invite plenty of natural light. A queen-size bed with the finest of linens sits alongside a writing desk and cozy reading chair.
The ensuite bathroom dazzles with an open-air experience including an imaginative 4m rain shower, twin handcrafted copper sinks, and a Javanese stone tub in a lush garden setting with a fish pond.
This blend of comfort and luxury is bolstered by the spacious closets, natural body products, cotton waffle robes, complimentary hand-made snacks and healthy drinks in the refrigerator.
Positioned just 15 meters from the pebble-lined pool and terrace overlooking the rice fields, and equally close to the charming Sunset Elevator Bar and Tembaga, Bambu Indah’s main restaurant.
